This page explains how research actually gets from a published study into something our quiz or reports say to you. It's a deliberately narrow pipeline, built so nothing reaches you that we haven't reviewed and can stand behind.
Where we look
We draw on peer-reviewed journals and established research databases — sources like PubMed, Google Scholar, APA PsycNet, and university-affiliated research — rather than secondhand summaries or social media claims about psychology.
How a finding becomes a claim
Finding a study isn't enough to use it. Each potential claim is written up with its source, a plain-English explanation, and an honest rating of how strong the evidence actually is — Strong, Moderate, Limited, or Theory / Expert Opinion. A person reviews and approves it before it enters our internal claims database. Only claims in that approved database can be used in your quiz result or report; nothing is generated or cited from memory.
Why this matters
It would be easy for an AI-assisted site like this one to state something with more confidence than the underlying research supports, or to cite a study that doesn't actually say what's claimed. This process exists specifically to prevent that — see our Editorial Standards page for how these approved claims are then used in writing.
